Fishing & Foraging

Select dinosaurs have the skills needed to do these tasks. These could be considered good skills to know for each of the below dinosaurs.

Fishing as a ptera can be challenging when you are a young juvi. Gauging your distance from the water surface and maintaining your altitude may end with you in the water and eaten by a deino.

Schooling Fish have a weight cap of 10kg

FISHING TUTORIAL

Use spacebar to maintain altitude while skimming (holding right click) over the water surface. Look for fish jumping into the air for optimal fishing spots. Release right click when indicated while skimming through the jumping fish to catch one.

Tip: You can eat fish while latched to a tree or rock.

Ptera can attract fish to them in any water source. By holding RMB at the edge of the water. As shown in the video this can take a long time to trigger around 1 minute and 30 seconds.

When a fish appears within range use LMB to capture it! Be quick or it will escape shortly after swimming into your range.

Clams & How to open them:

You can get clams from Mudpools using the same technique. To open the clam get close to a large rock (as close as possible) and use LMB while holding the clam

FORAGING TUTORIAL

As a Beipi you can forage underwater for crabs. Swim to the bottom of the riverbed and press Crouch to latch onto the bottom of the riverbed. While latched on hold Q and begin scenting. Underwater you are given a specific icon that looks like bubbles. This is pointing you in the direction of a crab. Walk up to the bubbles still awhile latched and then Hold E and begin to dig. Can be a bit difficult to find the right position. Once you are done the crab will float to the surface. You may need to attack it so it is grab-able.

On the image you can see two things:

Bubble Icon - located on the navigation bar at the top
Bubbles- Visual indicators of bubbles showing exact location of the crab and where to dig. (Can be kinda hard to see)

FORAGING BURROWS

Psitt & Rabbit Burrows

Certain dinos can dig through burrows and scare food to the surface. Make sure your quick to grab the prey before it escapes.
Galli can hold Q key will sniff out burrows where you can dig up (Hold E) Frogs, Crabs, and Compys
