The Elder system completes the lifecycle for our Dinosaurs. Depending on how you lived your young lives it will determine what type of elder you will be. Met all of the requirements a Prime Elder. Bigger, stronger than the rest. Or a frail elder failed to meet the requirements and slowly become weaker overtime.
Dinosaur Growth Stages

Hatchling
Nested in dinosaur. Inherits mutations from the parents. Starts at 0% growth until 25%
Juvenile
Age which you spawn in the game if not nested in. Start at 25% growth until 50%
Adult
Once you hit 75% growth you are considered an adult dinosaur. Your life takes two paths at this point. Either Prime or Elder.
Frail Elder
Aging from 75% to 100% you will not increase growth rate from diets at this stage.
Stats begin dropping at 87.5% growth. Making you weaker than an Adult stage over time.
Prime Elder
A superior adult version of your dinosaur. You met all of the req. to become prime.
From 75% to 87.5% your stats will increase and you will be stronger than a normal Adult. After 87.5% your stats begin to decrease.

Prime elder has specific requirements that must be met before you hit 75% (adult) growth rate. Since some dinosaurs age faster than others this can be a frustrating task if you get your perfect diet too early and end up aging out before meeting all of the requirements.
Requirements (Required to Complete 5):
Visit a Sanctuary as a Juvenile
Get Nested In
Get Perfect Diet (1% of each)
Visit Mass Migration Zone (not available?)
Visit 2 Migration Zones
Visit 4 Patrol Zones
Never be infertile
Never get muscle spasms
Raise children to subadult
Be a Hypsi, Troodon, Beipi, Dryo or Deino.

A prime elder will not only increase in stats (& have a larger unique model & an Extra Mutation Slot) compared to a normal adult (until 87.5%) but they will also gain additional buffs such as:
Weight
Speed
Attack
Stomach Size
Blood Pool
Fracture HP
Attack Power
Nightvision
Trot/Walk Speed
Bonus Mutation Slot
Model Upgrade + Bigger than Adults
